Anjali Tiwari of Mining Engineering has been selected for the post of Management Trainee Technical in Tata Steel and has received a salary of Rs 11.88 lakh per annum. She participated in the “Women of Metal” competition organized by Tata Steel and secured her place among the top 10 finalists, after which she received a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) and an internship opportunity. She used to give “Weekly Aptitude Test” conducted by the training and placement coordinators of the Electrical department and to practice conceptual questions apart from the lectures given in the class, she used to watch some YouTube channels like “Electrical Dost”, “Practical Engineering” etc. Also took help. Vanshika Gupta from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering received a pre-placement offer for the post of Graduate Engineer Trainee from Tata Steel Long Products Pvt. Ltd. in September, 2023. She is going to start her journey in the core sector with Tata Steel in July 2024. This on-campus opportunity included a test on Diwali, followed by an interview and a group discussion round on the progress and sustainability of metallurgy. Vanshika, who interned from May to July, found the experience valuable, crediting her success to NIT Raipur’s on-campus internship and the support of her family, friends and college. She is grateful for the guidance from her seniors and the friendly environment of NIT Raipur and the significant contribution the institute has made in her securing a full-time offer with Tata.
Surbhi Singh from the Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering was selected as Manager Trainee in Tata Steel and received a salary of Rs 13 lakh per year. He enhanced his understanding through scholarly research papers and official texts. Selected among the top 10 in the “Women of Metal” program and awarded an internship, the internship culminated with a final presentation showcasing field-oriented project outcomes, learnings and contributions and was given a pre-placement offer.
