Polling duty: Ex-gratia of Rs 30 lakh to martyred jawan, Rs 15 lakh to injured in Naxalite incidents

Raipur: As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the family members of martyred CRPF constable Devendra Kumar employed in election work in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency are being approved an ex-gratia amount of Rs 30 lakh as per Chhattisgarh State Compensation Rules. At the same time, an ex-gratia amount of Rs 15 lakh is being approved to CRPF Assistant Commandant Shri Manu HC injured during election duty.

Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale informed that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, in case of death or injury during election duty of officers, employees and security forces employed for election work, ex-gratia amount is approved as per Chhattisgarh State Compensation Rules. Action is being taken to approve the ex-gratia compensation payment amount as per rules for the martyred and injured jawans during voting in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency today.

It is noteworthy that during voting in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency today, constable Devendra Kumar of CRPF’s D/196 company, deployed on outer cordon duty at polling station Galgam under Usur police station area of ​​Bijapur district, was seriously injured in an IED blast during area domination outside the campus. After first aid, he died while being brought to Raipur by air ambulance for better treatment.

E Company of CRPF’s 62nd battalion in Bijapur had gone out for area domination in view of voting. During area domination, an IED blast took place in Chihka area under Bhairamgarh police station area. CRPF’s Assistant Commandant Shri Manu HC was injured after being hit by a pressure IED. After first aid, he has been brought to Raipur by air ambulance for better treatment.
