Washington : Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams’ third space journey has postponed. In fact, due to technical fault, it was decided to stop the mission 90 minutes before take-off. The new launch date has not been announced yet. Sunita Williams was going to go on a space journey for the third time on Tuesday. Sunita was scheduled to take off from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Cornwall, Florida at 8.04 am Indian time on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.

However, 90 minutes before take-off, scientists detected a technical fault in the oxygen valve of the spacecraft, due to which the flight was stopped. Along with Sunita Williams, NASA scientist Barry Wilmore was also going to go to the International Space Station on Boeing’s spacecraft. Sunita Williams has spent a record 322 days in space and holds the record for being the female scientist who has done spacewalk for the most number of hours.

Williams went to space for the first time on 9 December 2006 and remained in space until 22 June 2007. Sunita Williams did spacewalk four times for a record 29 hours and 17 minutes. After this, Sunita Williams went on a spacewalk for the second time on 14 July 2012 and remained in space until 18 November 2012. 59-year-old Sunita Williams said that she was a little nervous before the flight, but at the same time she was also excited about flying in the new spacecraft. Williams said that the International Space Station is like a second home for her.
