Selection of students through lottery under RTE begins
2 min readRaipur, (Team Newsbuddy): The process of online lottery for admission in private schools for the academic year 2024-25 under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009 (RTE) has started from today. According to the information received from the Directorate of Public Instruction, one lakh 22 thousand 270 applications have been received for admission against a total of 52 thousand 872 reserved seats in the primary class of 6 thousand 554 private schools operating in the state. Today, 16 thousand 036 students have been selected in the first phase for admission in private schools.
In the first phase, on 20th May, the Director of Public Education Directorate has drawn the lottery for Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Jashpur and Jagdalpur districts in front of private school organizations, parents and various media. In these, 4 thousand 655 students have been selected against 5 thousand 126 reserved seats in Raipur, 3 thousand 462 against 4 thousand 293 seats in Durg, 3 thousand 609 against 4 thousand 558 seats in Bilaspur, 1 thousand 471 against 1 thousand 703 seats in Rajnandgaon, 1 thousand 242 against 1 thousand 351 seats in Kawardha, 895 against 1 thousand 252 seats in Jashpur and 702 students against 761 seats in Jagdalpur.
The selected students will be informed through SMS on their mobile number. After this, these students will have to take admission in the selected schools between June 1 and June 30. The process of online lottery for selection of students is completely computerized and without human intervention.
The process of inviting applications from the applicants for the remaining seats will be done. The time for this is from 1st July to 8th July. The process of second phase lottery will be done between 17th July to 20th July.
