3 min readIndore (Team Newsbuddy): With ‘One Nation, One Education Policy’, extensive work is being done on the National Education Policy, keeping the all-round development of the students at the center along with the upliftment of the nation.
This information was given by Prof. Dr. Vijay Kumar Srivastava, West Region Head of National Education Policy Implementation and Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, in the ‘Samvad’ program of State Press Club, MP. Dr. Srivastava is one of the key people working for drafting and implementing the new National Education Policy by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India. It has been three years since the National Education Policy (NEP) 20-20 was implemented. He told that the objective of the new education policy is to provide education to all, equality, quality, make education affordable for all, give priority to skill development and develop entrepreneurship.
He said that the new National Education Policy is based on the human value of the Indian knowledge tradition, in which the major pillars of the Indian knowledge tradition like Ayurveda, economics etc. have been included. Along with educating the entire nation, this policy also provides everyone the right to receive education according to their needs. Its specialty is that every student should get repeated opportunities to study as far as possible. If a student leaves his studies midway for any reason, he will get credits for the course completed. He will be able to resume his studies from where he left them.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Shrivastava said that the new education policy is based on the principles of intellectual practice and physical practice. In this, the focus is on the enhancement of skills, abilities and values. The center of this education policy is not the teacher but the student.
Prof. Srivastava said that the age up to 11 years is special from the standard of education, so the best possible efforts should be made for the all-round development of the students up to this limit and maximum up to the age of 14 years.
He said that the resolution formulas of the National Education Policy have the thinking and resolution of initiation with education, culture with nature, civilization with grandeur, science and research with knowledge. Just as India was the center of knowledge and study for the world earlier, this is a big step towards restoring it.
Along with being the Vice Chancellor of the University and the head of the Western region in the National Education Policy, the main subject of Prof. Srivastava is also environmental protection and promotion. He said that the word God is made up of five elements – land, sky, air, fire and water. We have to pay attention to the coexistence of water, forest, land, people and animals. Everyone has the responsibility to nourish nature. The foundation of environmental protection will have to be laid in thoughts, ideas and values from the germination of the seed before planting the plant.
