New initiative by Vikrant Mahavidyalaya for environmental protection- ‘Umuganda 2.0’
1 min readIndore (Team Newsbuddy): Vikrant Mahavidyalaya organized Umuganda 2.0 program in the college campus for environmental protection awareness. Umuganda initiative has been taken in the African country Rwanda under the cleanliness campaign done by every citizen on the last Saturday of every month. Taking this initiative forward, Vikrant University, Gwalior has successfully organized Umuganda 1.0. In this series, to show its strength for the eighth time to Indore, which has hoisted the flag of cleanliness seven times, the college honored about 70 social media influencers who influence the young generation through Umuganda 2.0 to discuss many aspects of environmental protection. They were urged to spread this work to the young generation through social media. The chief guest of the program was – Dr. Bharat Sharma, member of the Executive Board of Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, special guest senior environmental scientist Dr. Dilip Vagela and founder of Go Travelicious and Indore Moms Community Leader Komal Kare Joshi. Various activities were organized in the college campus for tree plantation and conservation of trees and protection of birds.
The guests were welcomed by the Managing Director of the institution Nitin Singh Tomar, Co-Managing Director Dr. Sandeep Shukla and Treasurer Garima Singh Tomar. The vote of thanks was given by the Principal of Engineering Unit Dr. Jitendra Singh Dodia.
Principal of Nursing Unit Keshkali Sharma, Principal of Pharmacy Unit Dr. Mahavir Chhajed, Principal of Commerce Unit Dr. Shilpi Mehta and all the teachers, employees and students were present in the program.
