Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma today reached the 4th Battalion Mana and paid tribute to the mortal remains of Jawan Nitesh Ekka, who was martyred in the Naxal encounter in Narayanpur district yesterday. After offering a wreath, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister shouldered the mortal remains of the martyred Jawan and respectfully sent it to his native village Chiraidan in Jashpur district.
Paying tribute to the martyr, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that our brave soldier has made the supreme sacrifice in the Naxalite encounter in Abujhmad area of Naraypur district. With the formation of our government, we have intensified the anti-Naxal operations, while fighting a decisive battle. Chief Minister said that the martyrdom of our Jawans will not go in vain and we are determined to establish peace in the region.
Chief Minister Sai met the family members of martyred Jawan Nitesh Ekka and offered condolences.
It is worth noting that the martyred constable of STF Nitesh Ekka was a resident of Jashpur district. On June 12, a joint force of DRG, STF and BSF left for anti-Naxal operation in Farasbeda-Dhurbeda area of Narayanpur district. During the operation on June 15, Naxalites started indiscriminate firing on the security forces and in retaliatory action, 08 Maoists were killed. Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured and one soldier was martyred.
On this occasion, MLA Motilal Sahu, DGP Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, ADG Shri Pradeep Gupta, Himanshu Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Alang along with senior police officers and family members of the martyr were present.
