Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition

Indore:- Madhya Pradesh won three medals including one gold on the first day of the national level Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition organized by the Sports Ministry of Government of India, Sports Authority of India and Indian Weightlifting Association.

In this competition being played at Shriram Gym, Robot Square under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Weightlifting Association, Rani Nayak of Madhya Pradesh won the gold medal in the women’s senior 45 kg weight category by lifting a total weight of 159 kg (68 kg in snatch and 88 kg in clean and jerk). In the same category, Khushi Kang of Madhya Pradesh won the silver medal for Madhya Pradesh by lifting a total weight of 88 kg.

In the 40 kg weight category of youth girls, Vaishnavi Lashkari of Madhya Pradesh won the bronze medal by lifting a total weight of 59 kg. In this category, the gold medal was won by Aishwarya of Tamil Nadu by lifting 120 kg. While the silver medal was won by Sripada Sirja Puli of Telangana.

In the 45 kg weight category of youth girls, Maharashtra’s Akanksha Vyavahare won the gold medal by lifting 141 kg. Neeraj of Andhra won the silver medal and K. Mamitha of Tamil Nadu won the bronze medal. Poorvi Lashkari of Madhya Pradesh finished fourth and Roshni Pachauri finished fifth.
In the 45 kg category of junior girls, Maharashtra’s Akanksha Vyavahare performed brilliantly and lifted 141 kg and won the second gold. The silver medal was also won by Maharashtra’s Akanksha Dhone by lifting 121 kg. Andhra’s Neerja won the bronze medal with 120 kg. On this occasion, S.H.Ananda Gowda, Karnataka (Honorary General Secretary Indian Weightlifting Association), K.Subramanyam, Karnataka (Chairman Technical Committee Indian Weightlifting Association, International Category 1 Referee Weightlifting, Competition Director Asmita Khelo India Women League), District Sports Officer Mrs. Reena Chauhan were present.
The guests were welcomed by Vimal Prajapati, Vipin Patidar, Advocate Chandrashekhar Chaudhary, Rambabu Yadav, Dharmendra Paliwal, Arpit Paliwal, Shailendra Prajapati, Suresh Chauhan, Dinesh Paliwal, Narendra Patidar, Satpal Singh Khalsa, Sanjay Karade, Chandu Rawal, Guddu Kumaon, Kalu Gagore.
