Police department has registered criminal cases against three individuals

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): The district administration and police department have achieved significant success in maintaining peace by closely monitoring social media in the Balodabazar district. The district-level social media monitoring committee has identified 55 suspicious cases involving Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and X accounts. The committee has forwarded these cases to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) through the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). The police department has registered criminal cases against three individuals. Four more individuals were identified on Thursday.

The 49 cases have been identified from the Balodabazar sub-division, 5 from Kasdol, and 1 from Simga. The cyber cell maintains regular contact with Google, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp to identify suspicious accounts. District Collector Shri Deepak Soni has urged residents to avoid posting inflammatory content on social media. He emphasised that the district administration will take strict action against anyone posting provocative or disruptive content on social media.

The administration has established a district-level social media monitoring committee to maintain law and order in the district. This committee is responsible for monitoring suspicious activities on social media and taking strict action against provocative or false posts. When they identify provocative or objectionable posts, comments, or articles, they immediately forward the information to the relevant Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Police Officer for prompt action.
