MP women’s team won runner-up trophy in all three categories

Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition concludes

Tamil Nadu won the championship in youth and junior category and Maharashtra won in senior category

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): In the Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition organized by the Sports Ministry of the Government of India, Sports Authority of India and Indian Weightlifting Association, the women weightlifters of host Madhya Pradesh performed brilliantly and won the runner-up trophy in the youth, junior and senior categories. Maharashtra won the team championship in the senior category and Tamil Nadu won the team championship in the youth and junior categories.
In this competition played at Shriram Gym, Robot Square under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Weightlifting Association, Tamil Nadu won the team championship in the youth category while Madhya Pradesh was the runner-up team. In the junior category too, Tamil Nadu was the winner while the MP team was the runner-up. In the senior category, Maharashtra was the winner and MP was the runner-up.
Asmita Dhon of Maharashtra was chosen as the best lifter in the youth category. Nikita Kamalakar of Maharashtra also won in the junior category. Rani Nayak of Madhya Pradesh was chosen as the best lifter of the championship in the senior category.
The Madhya Pradesh weightlifting team successfully completed this event in a very short time, which was appreciated by everyone. The event was organised so smoothly and systematically that the officials from the federation and Khelo India praised it highly and assured to organise bigger events in Indore in future too.
The mayor announced to give two lakh rupees
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, who came as the chief guest, praised this successful event and said that whenever any national level event is organized here in future, the Municipal Corporation will provide assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs. He also praised the women weightlifters of Madhya Pradesh and said that the hard work they have put in is commendable. The women’s team of Madhya Pradesh gave its best performance and secured second place in the team championship.
The prize distribution was done by Amarendra Singh, Additional DCP, Pushyamitra Bhargav, Mayor, Gaurav Randive, Sanjay Kataria, Councillor, Krishna Murari Moghe, former MP and former Mayor, Jaipal Singh Chawda, former Organization Minister and President IDA Indore, Deepak Jain (Tinu), former Councillor, Bal Mukund Soni, Councillor, Dhan Singh Dangi, General Secretary BJP, Pushpendra Patidar, Councillor, Rajaram Ustad Khajrana, Dilip Mukati, President Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Guddu Kumaon General Secretary. Guests were welcomed by Azhar Patel, Dinesh Paliwal, Dharmendra Paliwal, Sanjay Karade, Manish Paliwal, Arpit Paliwal, Bansilal Joshi, Narendra Patidar, Rajeshwar Singh, Deepak Rathore, Akash Koshal, Chirag Joshi, Kartik Patel. The function was conducted by Dr. Sharad Nagar and thanks were expressed by Vinod Sonagara.
In the 81 kg youth category held on the last day, Amrita of Kerala won the gold with a weight of 179 kg. While Ramani of Tamil Nadu won the silver and Clarissa Angel of Karnataka won the bronze medal.
In the senior category in the over 87 kg weight category, Ruchicha Dahore of Maharashtra won the gold by lifting 180 kg. Preet Deshmuk of NCOE was second. Varshita Bolam of Maharashtra was third and Divya Gurjar of MP was fourth.
In the 87 kg junior category, Amritha Suni of Kerala lifted 179 kg and secured the first position. Vaishnavi Pawar of Maharashtra was in second place.
In the 81 kg senior category, RP Kirtana of Tamil Nadu won the gold with a weight of 191 kg. Oviya of Tamil Nadu secured the second position by lifting 183 kg. Nikita Rajput of Madhya Pradesh secured the 7th position.
In the 81 kg youth category, Tamil Nadu’s Kirtana won her second gold medal by lifting 191 kg. Oviya from Tamil Nadu won silver with a weight of 183 kg. In the 81 kg junior category, Tamil Nadu’s Kirtana won gold with a hat-trick. Tamil Nadu’s Oviya was in second place.
In the 87 kg senior women’s category, Yogita Khedkar of Maharashtra came first with a weight of 186 kg. Komal Wakle of Maharashtra came second with a weight of 185 kg.
Also, in the junior category above 87 kg, Varshita Bolam of Maharashtra stood first and Raksha of Karnataka stood second.
