MoU signed between NIT Raipur and CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad in the fields of geophysics, geology, energy extraction from natural resources
2 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): In a significant development aimed at advancing research and development in the fields of geophysics, geology, and energy extraction from natural resources, The National Institute of Technology Raipur, and CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Hyderabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27th June 2024, in the esteemed presence of Prof. N V Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, Dr. Prakash Kumar Director CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad, and key dignitaries from NIT Raipur and CSIR-NGRI Hyderabad.
The agreement, signed by both parties, outlines several key areas of cooperation. The collaboration will focus on jointly identifying and pursuing research initiatives in areas of mutual interest within geophysics, geology, and energy extraction from natural resources. NIT Raipur and CSIR-NGRI will work together to promote and undertake joint research programs. The agreement includes provisions for providing consultancy services in relevant domains, leveraging the combined expertise of both institutions. Guidelines on intellectual property arising from collaborative efforts will be established to ensure fair and equitable sharing of rights. The agreement also allows collaboration in other areas that both institutions find mutually beneficial.
This collaboration is expected to foster innovation, enhance academic exchange, and contribute to addressing critical challenges in geophysics and geology through combined efforts in research and application.
Both NITR and CSIR-NGRI expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, which is set to commence immediately following the signing of the agreement.
Dr. D.C. Jhariya, Department of Applied Geology, and Dr. Sachin Jain, Department of Electrical Engineering will coordinate all the collaborative activities with CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad from NIT Raipur.
