Court extends judicial custody of accused in coal scam case

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): The special court has extended the judicial custody of all the accused in the coal scam case. The special court has once again sent all the accused to jail in judicial custody till July 12. Accused Nikhil Chandrakar, Laxmikant Tiwari, Sunil Nayak, Shivshankar Nag, Roshan Singh, Muinuddin Qureshi, Hemant Jaiswal and Chandraprakash Jaiswal were produced in the court.

It is noteworthy that on June 18 last month, the agency arrested 5 more accused. These five arrested accused used to work with jailed businessman Suryakant Tiwari. Their name also came up in the ED investigation. Who have been sent to EOW remand till June 22. EOW produced all these accused in the Special Court of Raipur and sought 14 days remand. After this, the court has handed over the five accused on 5-day remand. Now the accused will be questioned till June 22. EOW has arrested Moinuddin Qureshi, Roshan Kumar Singh, Parekh Kumar Kurre, Rahul Kumar Singh and Montu alias Virendra Kumar Jaiswal. It is alleged that these five accused used to work for coal levy for the gang while living in Raipur, Korba, Surajpur.

All 11 accused are in jail for one and a half years

All the accused in the coal scam case have been in jail for about one and a half years. The Enforcement Directorate has arrested more than 11 people in the coal scam. In this, only businessman Sunil Agarwal has got bail. EOW is going to arrest him soon. EOW alleges that influential people in the previous government together committed illegal coal transportation scam. This scam is worth more than 540 crores. The entire scam happened under the protection of officials and politicians. Therefore, a case has been registered based on the ED report.
