Hathras accident: Death toll rises to 122, PM Modi expresses grief

Hathras (Team Newsbuddy): A major accident took place in Fullerai village of Sikandrarao town in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Sakar Hari Baba’s satsang was going on here. After the satsang ended, as soon as the crowd started leaving from here, a stampede occurred. According to ADG Agra Anupam Kulshreshtha, 122 people have died in the accident so far.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to provide financial assistance of two lakhs each to the families of the deceased and 50,000 each to the injured. The Chief Minister has directed the concerned officials to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing and provide proper treatment to the injured. Uttar Pradesh government ministers Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Sandeep Singh have left for the incident site and have directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state to reach the incident site. An FIR will be lodged against the program organizers. The government is preparing for major action.

PM Modi expresses grief

While addressing the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi expressed grief while referring to the Hathras accident. He assured all possible help to the victims.

PM Modi has said on the accident that there are reports of many people dying in the stampede in Hathras, UP. I express my condolences to those who have lost their lives. I wish everyone a speedy recovery. The Center is constantly in touch with the state government. I assure that the victims will be helped in every way.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also expressed grief over the accident. He wrote on his X account, ‘The accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this accident. Along with this, I wish all the injured a speedy recovery. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is providing all possible help to all the victims’.

BSP supremo also expresses grief over accident

BSP supremo Mayawati said on the accident- A large number of people died and many were injured in the stampede during a satsang in Hathras district of UP and a youth was killed during a Buddhist/Bhim Katha in Agra is very sad. The government should investigate these incidents and take appropriate action and financially help the victim families.
