Indore launches “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign, aiming to plant 51 lakh trees

Indore(Team Newsbuddy) : In a significant step towards environmental conservation, Indore inaugurated a massive tree plantation campaign titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” on Sunday. The campaign aims to plant 51 lakh trees across the city. The launch event was attended by MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Central Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, MP Shankar Lalwani, MLAs, and other dignitaries.
The inauguration ceremony commenced at 11 AM with the Chief Minister offering floral tributes at the statue of Maa Ahilya in Rajwada, symbolizing the start of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative. Following this, the Chief Minister, along with Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, State Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, State Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, and other dignitaries, planted saplings in the Bijasan area.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the historic environmental significance of Indore and Ujjain, highlighting Indore’s unique identity both nationally and globally. He expressed his vision for Indore to maintain its status as the cleanest city and become the number one green city in India.
Thousands of women and children participated in the plantation drive at the BSF range, enthusiastically supporting the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for nationwide tree plantation.
Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav underscored the importance of honoring Mother Earth, likening her to a mother who sustains all life. He urged every citizen to plant saplings, emphasizing the collective responsibility to create a greener earth.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya praised the initiative, committing to increase Indore’s green coverage. He assured that along with the plantation of 51 lakh trees, efforts would be made to ensure their conservation. The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign reflects Indore’s dedication to environmental sustainability, aiming to enhance its green landscape while reinforcing its reputation as a leader in cleanliness and green initiatives.
