Balodabazar incident: Congress submits memo to DGP over harassment

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): A Congress delegation met the DGP and submitted a memorandum to complain about the police harassment and arrest of Congress workers in the Balodabazar case.

The delegation included senior Congress leader Dhanendra Sahu, senior Congress leader Satyanarayan Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Phoolodevi Netam, MLA Devendra Yadav, former President Khadi Village Industries Rajendra Tiwari, War Room President Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, General Secretary Subodh Haritwal, Youth Congress President Akash Sharma, Balodabazar District Congress Committee President Hitendra Thakur, Saddam Solanki.

It was said in the memorandum that in the past few days, some anti-social elements conspired and entered the Satnami community, which was peacefully agitating against the vandalism of Jaitkhamb, a symbol of faith of not only the Satnami community but the human society of the entire Chhattisgarh, by criminal elements and carried out the incident of arson and vandalism in the administrative offices.

The local police administration is arresting innocent people to hide its negligence and failure of its information system. Also, Congress workers and activists are being harassed with a feeling of revenge against the opposition political parties. In this series, Suryakant Verma, the assembly president of the Indian National Student Organization of Balodabazar district, has been arrested despite being innocent and now Balodabazar District Youth Congress President Shailendra Banjare has been taken into custody.

We strongly condemn the police atrocities being committed against innocent officials, workers and people of Satnami community supporting the Congress organization by the police administration under the pressure of the Bharatiya Janata Party government of the state and demand an immediate ban on such incidents.
