Union Minister clarifies fund allocations: Absence of State names in budget does not indicate lack of support

Indore: Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, here on Saturday c; clarified that the absence of a state’s name in the Union Budget does not imply that funds were not allocated to them. He assured that states receive “sufficient” funds from the Center.

Reacting to opposition leaders’ allegations over an alleged raw deal with many states in the Union budget, the minister said that the absence of a state’s name in the Union budget does not mean no funds were allocated. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan were not mentioned. Even Madhya Pradesh was not mentioned. It does not mean sufficient funds were not allocated,” he told media persons.

Murugan further emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the people of Andhra Pradesh, promising that just as the government is working towards a “Viksit Bharat” (developed India), efforts will also be made for a “Viksit Andhra Pradesh.”

During a press conference, the Union Minister highlighted several budget allocations benefiting Andhra Pradesh, including customs duty exemption on shrimp production, promotion of natural farming, and Rs 168 crore for establishing a petroleum university. Rs 9,151 crore has also been allocated for railway projects in Andhra Pradesh.
