People from Bihar, UP reiterate demand for a superfast train from Indore to Darbhanga*

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): The Poorvottar Sanskritik Sansthan Madhya Pradesh, the largest organization representing people from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and other eastern states residing in the city, has once again urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to introduce a regular superfast train from Indore to Darbhanga or Jaynagar. In a recent letter to the Union Railway Minister, Thakur Jagdish Singh, President of Poorvottar Sanskritik Sansthan Madhya Pradesh, and General Secretary K.K. Jha emphasized that they have been requesting a direct train between Indore and Darbhanga/Jaynagar for the past two decades. However, their demands have consistently been ignored, even though millions of people from Bihar, UP, and other eastern states reside in Indore, Malwa, and western Nimad regions of Madhya Pradesh for their livelihoods.
They pointed out that currently the only train from Indore to Bihar is the Indore-Patna Express, which has such long waiting lists that many passengers are unable to benefit from it. Jha mentioned that the neglect by the Ministry of Railways has been causing extreme inconvenience to these people, making it difficult for them to visit their native places, especially in Bihar and UP. He also noted that former Lok Sabha Speaker and MP Sumitra Mahajan, local MP Shankar Lalwani, Darbhanga MP Gopal Ji Thakur, Jhanjharpur MP Ram Preet Mandal, and Madhubani MP Ashok Kumar Yadav have previously written to the Railway Minister, highlighting the rail issues faced by the Purvanchal residents in the city and demanding a train from Indore to Darbhanga/Jaynagar. Unfortunately, even after two decades, no action has been taken by the Ministry of Railways in this regard.

The Poorvottar Sanskritik Sansthan has once again requested the Union Railway Minister, senior railway officials, and other concerned authorities to start a regular superfast special train between Indore and Darbhanga/Jaynagar. The proposed route would be through Bhopal, Jabalpur, Prayagraj, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Samastipur, or via Bhopal, Vidisha, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, and Sitamarhi. This would greatly benefit the millions of expatriates from Bihar residing in Indore, Malwa, and western Nimad by providing easier travel to their native districts. The Sansthan has also requested the extension of the Indore-Patna train to Jaynagar via Patliputra, Samastipur, and Darbhanga, and the routing of the Indore-Guwahati train through Hajipur, Barauni, and Bhagalpur. This would allow people from these regions living in the city to take advantage of these train services.
