Foundation stone laid for new academic building at NIT Raipur
2 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): The foundation stone for a new G+6 building, named Academic Annex-I, was ceremoniously laid on 7th August 2024 at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur by Dr. Suresh Haware, Chairperson of the Board of Governors NIT Raipur, in the presence of Dr. N.V. Ramana Rao, Director NIT Raipur and Dr. R.K. Tripathi, Dean (Planning & Development) NIT Raipur.
The Academic Annex-I building will be constructed in the NIT Raipur campus in place of the Unit Operation Lab and will be situated adjacent to the existing Academic Building. This state-of-the-art, seven-story building will be constructed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Raipur. This new facility will span over a total floor area of 6,387 square meters, significantly enhancing the infrastructure to support academic activities for students. This building with 35 halls for classrooms and labs will feature modern amenities including firefighting system, CCTV surveillance, LAN system, ensuring a safe and technologically advanced academic environment for students of the institute. The project is slated for completion in 18 months at a total cost of ₹25.4 crores.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by all Deans, Dr. N. D. Londhe, In-charge Registrar, Dr. L.K. Yadu, Dr. A. V. Ahirwar, Associate Deans (P&D), Mr. Pawan Kataria, Assistant Registrar (P&D), Faculty, and Staff of NIT Raipur, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s ongoing efforts to expand and upgrade its academic facilities. Shri. Ritesh Kumar Agrawal, Executive Engineer (Civil), Ar. Pushpraj Kashyap, Architect and other Officials from CPWD Raipur also registered their presence during the foundation stone laying ceremony.
