1 min readMoscow (Team Newsbuddy): So far 51 people have died in the Russian missile attack on Poltava, Ukraine.
Poltava is 130 km from Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine.
This city is not on the frontline of the war, yet it comes under the range of long-range missiles.
The missile with which Russia attacked is the Iskander M ballistic missile which can strike up to 500 kilometers. This missile can carry 700 kg of explosives.
The Ukrainian army said that Iskander missiles were being fired from Crimea. The distance from Crimea to Poltava is about 430 kilometers.
Why was Poltava targeted?
Poltava is 140 kilometers away from the Russian border. Russia attacked here in such a way that people did not get a chance to recover. Due to this, more than 50 people died.
This is the reason why Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said that it is a terrible day for Poltava. The ministry said that there was so little time between the air raid siren and the missile attack that people got injured while going to the bomb shelter
