MP’s largest state-of–Art Inter-State Bus terminal in Indore to open in December

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): The state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned, and largest inter-state bus terminal (ISBT) in Madhya Pradesh, modeled after an airport, is set to be inaugurated in December in Kumedi, Indore this year.This cutting-edge facility will significantly boost Indore and Madhya Pradesh’s reputation as a transportation hub in India, said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav while inspecting the under construction bus terminal here on Saturday.

The Indore Development Authority (IDA) is constructing the terminal on a 15-acre of lamd at an estimated cost of Rs. 101 crores. The facility is expected to be operational by December 2024. The ISBT will also serve as a major infrastructural boon for the upcoming Simhastha festival in Ujjain in 2028, enhancing travel convenience for thousands of pilgrims and visitors from across the country and the world.

The bus terminal, designed with modern amenities to rival any airport, will offer travelers air-conditioned waiting areas, 14 ticket counters, and ample parking space for around 1000 vehicles. It will handle approximately 1440 buses daily, with services to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, and Sagar, among other destinations. A total of 43 bus platforms have been constructed, with 28 allocated for departures and 15 for arrivals. The terminal is expected to cater to 80,000 passengers daily, with the capacity to accommodate up to 8,000 people at peak times.

During inspection, Chief Minister was accompanied by State Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, MLA Mahendra Hardia, and various officials from the IDA, district administration, and local representatives.

Top-Notch Amenities for Travelers:

The terminal will feature separate arrival and departure gates, similar to airport systems. The parking facility will include space for around 600 two-wheelers, 160 cars and taxis, 150 auto-rickshaws, and 50 private cars. Additionally, underground parking will accommodate 315 four-wheelers. Two public toilet facilities have been constructed for passenger convenience
