MP Govt announces Vikramaditya Award for justice
1 min readBhopal(Team Newsbuddy): In honor of the legendary King Vikramaditya of Ujjain, renowned for his wise rule, transparent justice system, and contributions to public welfare, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced plans to establish an award in his name, recognizing excellence in the field of justice. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday to discuss preparations for Vikramutsav 2025, which will take place from February 26 to June 5.
Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation about Vikramaditya’s legacy, including the origins of the Vikram calendar and the positive impact of his philanthropic efforts on society. To ensure this, aspects of Vikramaditya’s governance, justice, and contributions will be incorporated into school textbooks.
The meeting also revealed that a private institute in Kolkata has recognized “Vikram Utsav 2024” as the largest event of its kind in Asia. For Vikramutsav 2025, a comprehensive plan has been drafted, which will include initiatives such as the Vikramutsav Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, environmental conservation programs, water structure preservation, Surya Upasana, and cultural performances.
