The FBI said they are looking at the incident as an ‘attempt to murder’. Officials said the suspect had a single-barrel AK-47 rifle and a GoPro camera.
The New York Post, citing law enforcement sources, said that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is safe after the incident on Sunday in which two people exchanged gunfire outside his Florida golf club.

The FBI said in a statement that the agency “responded to West Palm Beach, Florida and reported that it is investigating the incident.” The agency said that the case appears to be an attempt to assassinate former President Trump. Officials said in a press briefing that “the suspect also had an AK-47 rifle with a scope and a GoPro. The gunman was about 300-500 yards away from Trump. The Secret Service attacked the suspect and fired at least four shots. It is not yet clear whether the attacker fired or not. The New York Times and Fox News, citing law enforcement officials, reported that the suspect has been identified as 58-year-old Wesley Roth of Hawaii.
