Indore: In a significant leap toward transforming Indore into a model urban center, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated four landmark flyovers daily, with a total project investment of approximately Rs 222 crore. The inauguration of four flyovers simultaneously in Indore in a single day, marks a new chapter in the city’s infrastructure development, as it becomes the first time in Indore’s history.
Strategically located at Footi Kothi, Bhawarkuan, Khajrana, and Lavkush Square, these new flyovers are poised to revolutionize the city’s traffic flow, providing smoother, faster, and safer commutes for millions of residents. The initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to transforming Indore into a future-ready urban hub.
During the event, the Footi Kothi flyover was renamed after Saint Sewalal Ji Maharaj, with the square itself being rechristened as Saint Sewalal Square, recognizing the saint’s influence and legacy.
Footi Kothi’s six-lane flyover, measuring 610 meters in length and 24 meters in width, has been constructed for Rs 57.70 crore. It aims to significantly reduce congestion in one of the city’s busiest intersections.
Bhawarkuan six-lane flyover, built over 625 meters in length and 24 meters in width, has been constructed with an investment of Rs 55.77 crore, facilitating better traffic flow in the Bhawarkuan area.
Khajrana and Lavkush Square’s six-lane flyovers entailed Rs 41.19 crore and Rs 66.88 crore, respectively. CM inaugurated one lane of both these flyovers. Almost 90% of the works on the second lanes of these flyovers are complete and are expected to be finalized shortly.
While inaugurating these flyovers, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized his administration’s vision to make Indore a beacon of development and modern urban planning. “Today, we set a benchmark for Indore’s future. Our aim is not just to address the current traffic challenges but to lay down a robust foundation for the city’s long-term growth and prosperity. We will ensure that no intersection remains a hindrance to our progress,” he said.
Dr. Yadav also unveiled plans to invest Rs 400 crore in overhauling the city’s sewer infrastructure, underscoring the government’s holistic approach to urban development.
Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya outlined an ambitious roadmap to construct 20 to 25 additional underpasses and flyovers across Indore over the next three years. “Our mission is to create a smart, efficient traffic management system that anticipates and adapts to the needs of our growing city. Indore’s transformation into a world-class urban center is our top priority,” he stated.
“Our fight is not just for better roads and flyovers but for a healthier, safer Indore. We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to make this city free of drug abuse,” Vijayvergiya declared. The inauguration of these four flyovers signifies a pivotal moment in Indore’s journey toward becoming a smart and resilient city. This massive infrastructure upgrade is set to streamline traffic, reduce travel times, and enhance the quality of life for its citizens, marking a bold step toward realizing the vision of Indore as a forward-looking urban powerhouse
