Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): The Bharatiya Janata Party government is honoring the members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh who were dictatorially detained during the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975 by providing them Democracy Fighter Samman Nidhi.
Convenor of All India Chhattisgarhi Mahasabha Dr. Saurabh Nirvani met Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and demanded that the last rites of MISA prisoners detained during the Emergency should be performed with state honors. The Sai Cabinet approved the demand of All India Chhattisgarhi Mahasabha and announced to perform the last rites of democracy fighters with state honors and also to give a funeral amount of Rs. 25,000. On this, 320 democracy fighters from across the state have expressed gratitude to the government. Democracy fighter advocate Hriday Narayan Nirvani has expressed gratitude to the government in the National Emergency. Expressing gratitude to Vice President Sachchidanand Upasne, he said that at that time, all of us RSS volunteers who were in jail for months opposing dictatorship, were not with the expectation that we would be respected. Rather, it was a step taken to save the country, to save democracy, against dictatorship. Today, the Chief Ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party sitting in the government are highlighting our work in the society, nothing is better than this. Dr. Saurabh Nirvani, the convener of the All India Chhattisgarhi Mahasabha, while expressing happiness over the decision of the cabinet, said that not even a month had passed since the demand of the Mahasabha was made and the government approved it in its cabinet, this shows the sensitivity of the government. Dr. Saurabh Nirvani said that he will also meet the State President Kiran Singh Dev to put up the photo of the democracy fighter of that district in the District BJP headquarters across the state so that the new workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party get inspired by the sacrifices of the MISA prisoners, the volunteers who have spent their lives for the pride of the nation, and the feeling of making oneself fuel for the national religion becomes stronger among the workers.
