1 min readIndore (Team Newsbuddy): In a transformative Mayor-in-Council meeting led by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, several landmark decisions were taken to modernize Indore’s infrastructure and urban services. A major highlight was the approval of a ₹500 crore project aimed at resolving drainage issues across 29 villages and other city areas, signaling a robust step towards better water management.
The council also allocated ₹14 crore for road repairs and resurfacing to enhance city connectivity. In a move to accelerate development, tenders worth ₹800 crore under the AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) project were approved to further boost Indore’s urban landscape.
Tech-driven solutions were prioritized with the endorsement of a Geographic Information System (GIS) survey to boost revenue and the creation of a digital portal to streamline city operations. Approvals for rooftop recreational areas, hawker zones, and new sports facilities were also granted to promote community engagement and local commerce.
To improve traffic and public safety, abandoned vehicles will be cleared from city roads, while key streets will be decluttered of overhead cables. The council also set plans in motion for building foot overbridges at vital locations and modernizing the Regional Park with new attractions, including an amusement park and a 14D cinema.
The session, attended by key officials like Commissioner Shivam Verma, concluded with a focus on Indore’s evolution into a smarter, more efficient city through these visionary projects.
