Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): CPI(M) workers held a massive protest by forming a human chain at 5 pm today against the brutal use of force by the police on tribals protesting against deforestation and illegal felling of trees in Hasdeo Aranya and also condemned the police for the brutal lathicharge on the tribals. It is noteworthy that the CPI(M) has called for strong opposition to this in the entire state.
CPI(M) leaders MK Nandi, Dharmaraj Mohapatra, Rajesh Awasthi, Pradeep Gambhane while addressing the protesters said that the BJP’s Vishnudev Sai government is hell-bent on handing over the precious mineral wealth of Hasdeo Aranya and Hasdeo region to Adani. The Sai government is oppressing the tribals there by displacing the tribals and cutting the forests to hand over the entire Hasdeo region to Adani.
It is unfortunate that Vishnu Sai himself is a tribal but in order to bow down before Adani, he forgot that he always pretends to be the leader of these tribals. The Sai government’s police brutally lathi-charged the tribals fighting to save the Hasdeo Aranya and has imprisoned many of them by fabricating false cases against them.
CPI(M) leaders said that oppression of tribals will not be tolerated under any circumstances. After this, CPI(M) workers demonstrated by forming a human chain to show solidarity with the tribals of Hasdeo Aranya. CPI(M) State Secretary MK Nandi, Secretariat member Dharmaraj Mohapatra, SC Bhattacharya, Pradeep Gambhane, Ajay Kannauje, Rajesh Awasthi, Sheetal Patel, Maruti Dongre, Chandrashekhar Singh, Vibhas Paitundi, Naveen Gupta, Pradeep Mishra, KK Sahu, Godavari, Panchuram, Jwala Devangan and many other comrades participated in the demonstration.
