Our Government is committed to development of Tribal Areas – CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Jashpurnagar(Team Newsbuddy): Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai convened a meeting of the Surguja Area Tribal Development Authority in Mayali of Jashpur district.

In the presence of the members of the Authority and the secretaries of major departments, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of works approved under the Tribal Development Authority and directed the completion of ongoing works and cancelled the projects that had not yet begun.

In order to take effect measures for development, Chief Minister appealed the members of the Authority to discuss problems of their areas and give proposals of their demands.

He directed the concerned departments to resolve the problems informed by the members in the meeting. On the demand of MLA Renuka Singh, the Chief Minister announced to increase the budget amount of Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority from Rs 50 crores to Rs 75 crores. He also announced to give an amount of Rs 10 crores to promote tourism in Mayali.

Addressing the meeting of the Authority, Chief Minister Sai said that the state is being developed in all aspects since the time of former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. He had formed an Authority for development in the tribal areas and provided resources. At present, there are five authorities in Chhattisgarh.

“Our government wants development from Bastar to Sarguja area. For this, if there is no amount in the budget, necessary work will be done through the formed Authority. The Government of India and the State Government want development of all sections of the state including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes,” said Sai.

The pace of development will be further increased by arranging resources in these areas through the authority. He said that the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, has made provision for development in the tribal areas through PM Janman and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. These schemes will speed up development work in all areas of the state.

Chief Minister Sai said, “State government has focused on the development of tribal areas in the budget. Our government will work with commitment for the development of Bastar and Surguja division area,” said Sai.

The Chief Minister praised the preparations made by the district administration for the meeting of the authority in Mayali of Jashpur district and said that Jashpur district has the availability of forest and forest produce along with the reserves of mineral resources.

Chief Minister advocates for value addition to forest products to boost local economy and tourism. Chief Minister Sai emphasized the importance of enhancing the value of forest produce and key local products to benefit villagers and farmers. He urged senior officials from Raipur to explore these products, utilize them, and promote the region, highlighting the significant tourist potential of Jashpur district. The Chief Minister’s initiative aims to foster economic growth and bolster tourism in the area.

While addressing Authority members’ concerns Chief Minister Shri Sai talked about resolving their problems pointed out in the meeting. He talked about examining the demand for starting a sugarcane purchase center in Lundra-Batouli area, working towards providing electricity to areas without electricity, taking necessary steps to prevent loss of life due to elephants and considering increasing the amount of damage.

On the complaint of people receiving high electricity bills including those with single light connection, the Chief Minister directed Energy Secretary Rohit Yadav to examine and resolve the complaints related to electricity bills. He directed the Secretary of the Food Department to resolve the complaints related to shortage of ration at some places in Jashpur district.
