Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Double decker bus, which is considered to be the life line of Mumbai, is seen running on the roads of Indore. Switch Company has prepared a double decker air conditioner electric bus. This bus is 9 meters long and 15 feet high. In this 65 seater bus, 29 passengers can sit below and 36 passengers above. Double decker is being trialed for the last one week. Like metro rail, the trial run of double decker bus will also run for at least one month.
Efforts were being made to run double decker bus for a long time to strengthen the traffic system in Indore and provide convenience to the citizens. This effort has now been successful. Indore Mayor Pushpamitra Bhargava said that the wait for double decker bus is over. He said that the population of Indore is continuously increasing. Apart from this, the number of passengers traveling in buses has also increased. With double decker bus, passengers of two buses will travel in a single vehicle, which will also reduce traffic pressure. Keeping this in mind, efforts were being made to run double decker buses for a long time.
Abhinav Chauhan, Engineer Incharge of AICTSL, which operates the double decker electric bus, told the team of State Press Club, MP that due to the high height of the bus, the bus will prove to be more useful on wide routes. The length and width of the double decker bus dedicated to Indore is also more than that of ordinary buses. If we talk about the length of the bus, it is 9 meters while the height is around 15 feet. This bus has the capacity to seat 65 passengers at a time. In this 65 seater bus, 29 passengers can sit below and 36 passengers above.
Chauhan said that its doors are wider than ordinary buses. The bus has been made in a light aluminum body. Apart from two stairs, there will also be emergency doors in the bus. Once charged, this bus can run up to 180 kilometers. The bus has comfortable seats in both sections and wide glass windows for the passengers.
Members of State Press Club, MP travelled in a double decker bus from AICTSL headquarters to Krishi Mahavidyalaya, Bypass, Tejaji Nagar, IT Park, Bhanwarkua Chauraha, Navalakha Chauraha, GPO Chauraha, Geeta Bhawan Chauraha. Initially, AICTSL PRO Dr. Malasingh Thakur gave detailed information about the double decker bus and said that in the coming days the board will take the final decision regarding the bus route and number of buses. On this occasion, cartoonist Govind Lahoti ‘Kumar’ presented a beautiful caricature of a double decker bus to Dr. Thakur. State Press Club, MP President Praveen Khariwal and Women’s Press Club, MP President Sheetal Roy said that Indore has a special identity in the country due to various reasons. The running of double decker buses will add to Indore’s reputation.
