NIT Raipur: Vigilance Awareness Week begins , oath taken to stay away from corruption
2 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur organized the inaugural ceremony of Vigilance Awareness Week. The chief guest of the program was Director (in-charge) Dr. A.B. Soni. Registrar, NIT Raipur, Dr. P.Y. Dhekne, Dean (Faculty Welfare) Dr. D. Sanyal, Dean (Research and Consultancy) Dr. G.P.S.C. Mishra, along with all the department heads, faculty members and employees were present during this time. This program is being organized under the guidance of Dr. Swasti Sthapak, Chief Vigilance Officer of NIT Raipur. This year the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week is “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”
The program started with the national song of India “Vande Mataram”. Then Dr. Swasti Sthapak gave brief information about the Vigilance Awareness Week and talked about the activities to be organized throughout the week. He also highlighted the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week and said that this awareness week is celebrated every year on the birthday of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
After this, Dr. A.B. Soni administered an Integrity Pledge to all the members, inviting them to oppose corruption and to fight corruption while ensuring the interests of stakeholders, to promote ethical business practices, transparency and employee ethics, which were followed by all the members present. The program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” by all the members present.
There will be many interesting programs during the week-long Vigilance Awareness Week like essay writing competition for faculty members, students and staff, and poster making competition for students, This will be followed by street play and prize distribution ceremony
