Mayor-in-Council approves ₹850 crore urban transformation plan for Indore

Indore: In a decisive step towards shaping Indore’s future, the Mayor-in-Council, chaired by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, approved a comprehensive ₹850 crore development plan. The meeting, attended by Commissioner Shivam Verma and other key officials, focused on enhancing infrastructure, waste management, and urban greenery.
Key decisions include the construction of 23 roads worth ₹450 crore, including Bhagirathpura Main Road and Jinsi Chauraha, aimed at ensuring world-class infrastructure for the next 25 years. A proposal for 14 additional roads costing ₹400 crore will be sent to the state government.
Under Swachh Bharat Mission, the council sanctioned the expansion of Asia’s largest Bio-CNG plant at Devguradia, procurement of road-sweeping machines, electric garbage tippers, and advanced technology for carcass disposal. Plans to develop gardens in all 22 zones and a pilot project for self-reliant wards were also greenlit.
Water projects, including RCC tanks worth ₹18.82 crore, and initiatives like regulating private borewell use and waiving surcharges on central government properties, were also approved. Mayor Bhargava reaffirmed Indore’s commitment to sustainable growth, emphasizing timely execution of all projects to uphold the city’s status as a national le
ader in urban excellence.
