IPS GP Singh reinstated, Home Department issues order
1 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): The Chhattisgarh government has reinstated IPS officer Gurjinder Pal Singh (Batch 1994) to its services. This order has been issued by Home Department Secretary Him Shikhar Gupta with the approval of the Governor. This decision was taken under the orders issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and the State Government.
Earlier, Gurjinder Pal Singh was removed from service under Rule 16(3) of the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958. GP Singh had challenged this order in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Main Bench, New Delhi. CAT in its decision on 30 April 2024 repealed the order of the Government of India dated 20 July 2023 and directed the state government to reinstate Singh with all his benefits and rights. After this, as per the instructions of the Home Ministry, the Chhattisgarh government has reinstated him to service. With this decision, all the former benefits a
nd rights of Gurjinder Pal Singh have been restored.
