Sakshya , Ariv sign off season fittingly
2 min readBengaluru (Team Newsbuddy) : The UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships concluded at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium with thrilling finals. Karnataka’s Sakshya Santhosh secured the Youth Girls U-11 crown by defeating Assam’s Divija Paul 3-1. Despite facing resistance in two close games, Sakshya’s skill and determination earned her the title amidst strong local support.
In the Boys’ final, Ariv Dutta from the National Centre of Excellence dominated West Bengal’s Gem Mahalanabish with a commanding 3-0 win for the title. Ariv faced little challenge, showcasing his control and composure throughout the match.
The semifinals were a mixed bag of challenges. While Ariv and Gem won their matches comfortably, Divija had to work hard against Maharashtra’s Jinaya Vadhan. Divija capitalized on Jinaya’s errors to win a closely contested match, while Sakshya had to dig deep to overcome Assam’s Ishani Gogoi in a tense decider.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, Biprojeet Paul of Assam edged past Bengal’s Rajdeep Biswas in a dramatic 3-2 match, while Ariv, Daksh Soni, and Gem advanced with straightforward wins. In the Girls’ category, Jinaya fought through a tough five-game encounter against Bengal’s Akshita Mahato to reach the semifinals. At the same time, Sakshya, Ishani, and Divija eased past their opponents with more decisive victories.
The tournament ended on a high note, showcasing the grit, skill, and competitive spirit of India’s emerging table tennis talents.
