Bijapur (Team Newsbuddy) ; Naxalites have targeted security forces by carrying out a major attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. On Saturday, January 6, at around 2:15 pm, Maoists blew up a security force vehicle by detonating an IED on the Kutru-Ambeli road. 8 soldiers and a driver of Dantewada DRG (District Reserve Guard) have been martyred in this attack. At the same time, many soldiers are injured, whose condition is critical. Preparations are underway to airlift the injured to Raipur.
Key points of the attack:
The attack took place near Ambeli Nala in Kutru police station area of Bijapur. The encounter is going on at the spot after the attack. Additional security forces have been sent to the spot from Dantewada and surrounding areas. Preparations are being made to take the injured to Raipur by helicopter.
Conspiracy of Naxalites:
It is being told that the Naxalites were already aware of the movement of the soldiers. They set up an ambush and carried out a deadly explosion. The explosion was so powerful that the vehicle jumped 20 feet in the air. After this the Naxalites started firing on the force.
Senior officers left for the spot:
As soon as the information of the incident was received, Bastar IG Sundarraj and DGP Ashok Juneja from Raipur left for the spot. Backup team of security forces is also reaching the spot.
Naxal affected area:
The incident site is adjacent to the area of Abujhmad, which is considered a stronghold of Naxalites. This attack was carried out on the joint operation party of Narayanpur and Bijapur when they were returning from the operation.

This incident has once again exposed the activity of Naxalites and their aggressive stance. Chhattisgarh Naxal Chief Vivekanand Sinha said that the investigation of the incident is going on and all necessary steps are being taken.
