: Known for its commitment to cleanliness, Indore has taken a significant step towards addressing waterlogging and improving sanitation across the city. On Tuesday, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma inaugurated the ambitious Mayor’s Task Force at the municipal headquarters. This innovative initiative is set to revolutionize chamber cleaning operations in all 22 municipal zones by deploying advanced equipment and ensuring worker safety.

The task force comprises four dedicated teams of 50 workers each, tasked with cleaning one ward daily using state-of-the-art de-silting machines and high-pressure vehicles. Mayor Bhargava highlighted that the initiative aims to provide lasting relief to residents by addressing the root cause of waterlogging—blocked chambers. He assured citizens that the operations would be closely monitored to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma emphasized prioritizing worker safety, directing supervisors to strictly enforce safety protocols and provide protective uniforms and gear. Workers were explicitly cautioned against entering chambers under any circumstances, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. The project will be executed in collaboration with G Security India Private Limited, promising a streamlined and professional approach to sanitation.

The launch event was attended by Waterworks In-charge Abhishek Sharma, Councilor Prashant Badwe, and several engineers and supervisors, who applauded the move as a milestone in urban sanitation management. This task force is expected to set new benchmarks in civic hygiene and bring much-needed respite from waterlogging during the monsoon season.
