Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Dantewada district administration has taken a new step to make the life of visually impaired children simple and self-reliant and has provided a special device called ‘Any Device’. This device is helpful for children to learn and read Braille script. This device has been given to the visually impaired children of ‘Saksham’, a residential school run by the district administration. ‘Any Device’ is a smart learning tool, which helps children to recognize and write Braille letters. This device is equipped with touch and audio features. Children touch the Braille letters on the device with their fingers, and the device immediately narrates the name of the letter and its sound in audio. It also includes interactive games and quizzes, which makes the learning process of children interesting and effective.
16 visually impaired girls and 12 boys are studying in ‘Saksham’ school in Dantewada district. With the arrival of this new device, not only has their studies become easier, but their self-reliance has also increased. Teacher Amit Yadav said that he had experience of teaching Braille script earlier, but ‘Any Device’ has given the children the experience of other digital facilities along with studies. ‘Any Device’ has increased the confidence of children. This device connects children with games, songs and other activities along with studies. The device is equipped with technology like voice assistance. This effort of the Dantewada administration is a big step towards the integration of education and technology for Divyang children. From the establishment of ‘Saksham’ school in 2013 to the use of ‘Any Device’, this initiative is an excellent example of improving the lives of visually impaired children. It has become a symbol of inclusiveness in education and technological development and is uplifting those sections of the society who need special support.
