Indore. After four rounds of elimination in the Holkar Trophy Pair Bridge Competition being played under the 20th Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar National Bridge Competition being played at Yashwant Club, the pair of Pintu Saav of Madhya Pradesh and Naveen Kumar of UP are leading. Meanwhile, the teams of Mavericks, Ruia Blazers, Shri Radhe and Carpe Dime reached the semi-finals of Kalani Trophy.
After four rounds of eliminations in Holkar Trophy Pair Bridge competition, Pintu Sao of MP and Naveen Kumar of UP have secured the top position with 146 points. At the second position is the pair of Atanu Ganguly and Indranath Chatterjee of Kolkata with 136 points. Soumitra Das and Tanmay Majumdar of Kolkata are at the third position with 134 points. Subir Majumdar and NK Chitlangia of Kolkata are at the fourth position with 105 points. Shailendra Chhajed and Sameer Rai of Nagpur are at the fifth position with 100 points. Amol Deshmukh and V. Ramchandrashekhar of Mumbai are at the sixth position with 95 points, Pranab Bardhan and Shibnath Dayashankar of Kolkata are at the seventh position with 92.25 points and Kiran Nadar and B. Satyanarayana of Delhi-Kolkata are at the eighth position with 92 points. A total of five elimination rounds will be played in which the top 25 pairs along with 2 sponsors’ and one local team, i.e. a total of 28 teams will play for the final round. The final round will be held on Sunday.
The pairs who have not qualified for the final round will get a chance to play in the J.S. Anand Trophy.
Teams of Mavericks, Ruia Blazers, Shri Radhe and Carpe Dime have reached the semi-final matches of Kalani Trophy. Competition Secretary Shri Anil Vijayvargiya said that the final matches of Kalani Trophy and Holkar Trophy will be played on Sunday. The chief guests of the prize distribution at 5.15 pm will be Yashwant Club Chairman Shri Tony Sachdeva, Secretary Sanjay Gorani, Shri Saurav Kalani, Mrs. Padma Kalani, Mrs. Pal Anand, Shri Sampat Jhanwar and Shri Vinay Vijayvargiya. The winning team of Kalani Trophy will get a prize money of three lakh 20 thousand and the runner-up will get two lakh rupees. The winner of Holkar Pair Bridge Competition will get one lakh 75 thousand and the runner-up will get one lakh 20 thousand rupees. The winner of J.S. Anand Trophy will get 25 thousand and the runner-up will get 18 thousand. The winner of V.K. Vijayvargiya Trophy will get sixty thousand and the runner-up will get 40 thousand rupees.
