CG women’s team shines, wins gold medal in Beach National Handball Competition

Guwahati (Team Newsbuddy): The Senior Beach National Handball Competition was organized by Assam Handball Association under the aegis of Handball Association India at Sarusajai Sports Complex, Guwahati, Assam. The women’s handball team of Chhattisgarh state won the gold medal while participating in it.

In final match of the competition was played between Chhattisgarh and Kerala in which Chhattisgarh defeated Kerala in two straight sets by 14-11 goals in the first set and 19-11 goals in the second set and won the gold medal of the competition. Kanchan Mahanand of Chhattisgarh was awarded the title of Best Goalkeeper of the Beach Women’s Handball Competition. Earlier, in the semi-final match played this morning, Chhattisgarh defeated Haryana by 13-12 and 15-12 goals and entered the final.

On Chhattisgarh Beach Women Handball Team winning the gold medal, Chhattisgarh Handball Association President Dharmendra Yadav, Executive President Arun Singhania, BSP Handball Club President B.D. Babu (General Manager Incharge, Plant Garage) and Secretary Abdul Rahim, Chhattisgarh Handball Association founder member former General Secretary Bashir Ahmed Khan, General Secretary Sameer Khan, Treasurer Vijay Bahadur, Chhattisgarh Olympic Association General Secretary Vikram Singh Sisodia, Joint Secretary Sahiram Jakhar, Joint Secretary Mohd. Akram Khan, Vishnu Shrivastava, Chhattisgarh State Judo Association President Arun Dwivedi, Chhattisgarh State Judo Association General Secretary Shambhu Soni, Chhattisgarh Swimming Association President Gopal Khandelwal, Chhattisgarh Rowing Association General Secretary R.K. Shrivastava, Chhattisgarh State Amateur Boxing Association President R. Rajendran, Chhattisgarh Wrestling Association President Jagannath Yadav, Secretary Prashant Rai, Chhattisgarh Cycling Association Secretary V.R. Channavar, Chhattisgarh Football Association General Secretary Dr. G.D. Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Rugby Football Association Secretary Ayyaz Ahmed Khan and officials of various sports associations gave their best wishes to the players.
