Nehru Yuva Kendra hosts “My Bharat” awareness rally

Deputy Director,Nehru Yuva Kendra (Raipur), Arpit Tiwari lays emphasis upon to follow traffic rules to ensure personal and public safety

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): Nehru Yuva Kendra, Raipur (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India), in collaboration with the Traffic Police, inaugurated the Road Safety Week on January 17, 2023, with an awareness rally at Tikrapara.

Over 300 youths participated in the traffic awareness rally, where “My Bharat” volunteers raised awareness among the masses through slogans and signboards. During the rally, My Bharat volunteers also took the Traffic Safety Pledge, committing to follow traffic rules and encourage others to do the same.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Raipur, Arpit Tiwari, stressed the need for following traffic rules to ensure personal and public safety on roads. He highlighted that Nehru Yuva Kendra regularly organizes such events to spread awareness about traffic safety.

Satish Thakur, DSP, Traffic Police, Raipur, inspired the youth to diligently follow traffic rules. He informed the gathering that more than 50% of accidental deaths could be prevented by simply wearing helmets and seat belts.

Sunita Chansoriya, Professor at Durga College, said that youth play a pivotal role in social change and act as catalysts for community development. Shubha Tiwari, Principal of Shaheed Sanjay Yadav School, and representatives of Indian School, Tikrapara, were also present at the event.

As part of the event, T.K. Bhoi, Traffic Rules Trainer, provided training on traffic rules to the My Bharat volunteers. He emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations for ensuring road safety and urged the youth to implement these rules in their daily lives.

My Bharat volunteers Dewashish Patel and Vasu Patel contributed significantly to organizing the traffic awareness rally.

The program will continue throughout the week, during which Nehru Yuva Kendra and My Bharat volunteers will organize various competitions and awareness activities. The primary goal of the Road Safety Week is to educate citizens about the importance of following traffic rules and reducing road accidents.
