Annual sports fest ‘Summer-24’ concludes at NIT Raipur

Raipur(TEAM NEWS BUDDY).The 4-day annual sports fest – ‘Summer’24’, organized from 18th January to 21st January at National Institute of Technology Raipur, concluded today. ‘Samar’, organized by Team Shaurya, the sports committee of the institute, is the biggest sports festival of Central India, under which various sports competitions were organized. International weightlifter Rustam Sarang was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony and the honorable guest was Director (in-charge) Dr. A.B. Soni, the special guest (Dean, Faculty Welfare) was Dr. D. Sanyal. Along with this, Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Nitin Jain was also present in this program. In this event, Dr. D. Sanyal requested the students to show active participation in all the sports and participate in Inter-NIT Games. He said that a healthy mind resides only in a healthy body. International weightlifter and chief guest of the program Mr. Rustam Sarang told about his 23 years of sports career. After this the winners of all the games were awarded prizes by Team Samar.

In Intercollege Games, the winner of Volleyball was Rungta College and second position was NIT Raipur, in basketball NIT Raipur stood first and Kalinga University stood second, in football Kalinga University came first and Kalinga Super Eagles stood second, Kabaddi. NIT Raipur secured the first position and Amity University secured the second position. In interbranch games, the winners of Volleyball among Boys were Civil + CSE + Meta and Chemical + Electrical + ECE among Girls, the winners of Badminton among Boys were Meta + Biomed and Chemical + Electrical + ECE among Girls. Apart from this, winners of various sports were also honored by the Bravery Committee.
