Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Prof. Jagmohan Singh, nephew of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and famous writer, thinker and historian, said that Bhagat Singh is known for hanging himself, whereas he worked on the Green Revolution along with the freedom movement. Bhagat Singh made many efforts to ensure that every person in the society gets his rights.

Prof. Singh was talking to media persons in the Samvad program of State Press Club, MP. He told that during the freedom struggle, Bhagat Singh had started a campaign to keep the youth and women ahead in the society. He had also started many programs to improve the environment and eradicate poverty. He was aware that only youth and women can bring a big change in the society.

He said that Ram Rajya will not come by building Ram Mandir. As long as there are many problems in the country like hunger, unemployment, environment, Ram Rajya cannot come. On the debate sparked on the statement of RSS chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat that freedom was achieved after the construction of Ram temple, he said that the first thing is that how do we define freedom? And when you change the definition of freedom then your questions will be solved. He said that if by the construction of the temple all the people got food, got work, all their problems were solved then I would say that the construction of the temple was right. He said that just look at the history that we collected so much wealth from the temples that we invited the invaders from outside to come and loot our wealth.

Prof. Singh said that today there is a different kind of freedom for the big corporate houses of the country like Adani-Ambani but for the common and troubled man, the meaning of freedom is different. He said that the BJP has turned a blind eye to the achievements of the country before its tenure. He feels that non-BJP governments have not done any work in the seventy years since independence.

In response to a question, he said that a campaign has been launched to defame former prime ministers and great men through articles, books and films.
The British used to do the same thing before independence. They used to defame the local kings by calling them debauched and cunning. The public understands everything, such efforts of the government are not succeeding.

Prof. Singh said that the central government is collecting money of the states through GST but is reluctant to allocate budget for basic things like education, health. Many states have been forced to close important projects like schools, hospitals due to lack of budget. In the beginning, Vineet Tiwari of Pragati Lekhak Sangh introduced Prof. Singh. President Praveen Khariwal, General Secretary Abhishek Badjatya, Sameer Khan and Arvind Porwal welcomed Prof. Singh.
