Chhattisgarh civic-panchayat elections on 11 February

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): There will be elections in urban bodies in Chhattisgarh in one phase. For this, the nomination process will start from January 22. At the same time, voting will be held on February 11. Apart from this, counting of votes will be done on February 15. At the same time, the last date for withdrawal of nomination has been fixed as January 31. Elections will be held before the board examination in March.

State Election Commission held a press conference regarding Chhattisgarh Urban Body and Panchayat elections. During this, State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh gave information related to the upcoming elections. The election program of the body and three-tier panchayats has been announced. Elections will be held in 10 Municipal Corporations, 49 Municipal Councils, 114 Nagar Panchayats.

The election of urban bodies will be conducted with EVM. At the same time, three-tier panchayat elections will be held with ballot paper. There are 44 lakh 74 thousand 269 total voters in Nagar Palikas, out of which 22 lakh 525 are male voters and 22 lakh 73 thousand 232 are female voters. While the number of other voters is 512. A total of 5 thousand 970 polling stations will be set up for the election and 22 for the by-election. 1 thousand 531 will be sensitive and 132 will be hypersensitive polling stations.

More than 1 lakh polling personnel will conduct the elections

Under the three-tier Panchayat elections, there are 433 Zila Panchayat and 2 thousand 973 Janpad Panchayat members. While 11 thousand 672 Gram Panchayat Sarpanch and 1 lakh 60 thousand 180 Gram Panchayat Panchs will be elected. There are 1 crore 58 lakh 12 thousand 580 total voters. Out of which 78 lakh 20 thousand 202 are male voters and 79 lakh 92 thousand 184 are female voters. Apart from this, there are 194 other voters. In the upcoming elections, more than 1 lakh polling personnel will conduct the elections.
