Aarav of Maharashtra wins second consecutive title

Superstar Pankaj Advani, Saurabh Kothari, Brajesh Dammani and other famous players reach Indore

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Aarav Sancheti of Maharashtra continued his excellent game for the second consecutive day and achieved the distinction of becoming the champion in the national snooker as well. 14 year-old Aarav won the title in the national billiards.

In the final of sub-junior snooker in the 91st National Billiards and Snooker (Men) Championship being played in the Smash Hall of the city’s prestigious Yashwant Club under the aegis of the Indian Billiards and Snooker Association and jointly hosted by Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association and Yashwant Club, Aarav Sancheti defeated Bhavya Pipaliya of Gujarat in an interesting manner 4-2 (15-62, 93-15, 70-25, 24-60, 60-53, 74-28). After losing the first frame, Aarav made a strong comeback and showed an excellent game to win the second and third frames and take a 2-1 lead. Bhavya again won the fourth frame and the score became equal at 2-2. But Aarav did not lose his patience and showed an excellent game in the fifth and sixth frames and won his second consecutive title.
Third place J. Naveen Kumar of Tamil Nadu defeated J. Naveen Kumar of Karnataka. This was achieved by defeating J. Aarav 2-0. In the semi-final matches, Aarav Sancheti defeated J. Aarav of Karnataka 3-0 and Bhavya Pipaliya defeated J. Naveen Kumar of Karnataka 3-1.
The fifth place was achieved by Rahul Williams of Tamil Nadu by defeating Mohammed Saif of Tamil Nadu 2-0. In the match for the seventh place, Maurya Thakkar of Gujarat defeated Riddhiman of Karnataka 2-1.

Pankaj, Saurabh, Krishna, Brajesh win

Men’s senior billiards matches started in the city from Tuesday. In which the superstar of cue sports Pankaj Advani started the national championship with a bang. In his first match, Pankaj Advani of PSPB defeated M.N. Ranjit of Telangana 3-0. In the matches being held under the best of five 150 point format, it did not take much time for 39-year-old Pankaj Advani to win. Ranjit of Telangana could not stand in front of world champion Pankaj.

Pankaj, who won the IBSF World Billiards Championship for seven consecutive times, remains a challenge for the youth even today. In other matches, international star player Saurabh Kothari of PSPB defeated Md. Nizamuddin of Telangana 3-0, Brajesh Dammani of PSPB defeated Subrata Das of Odisha 3-0, S. of PSPB defeated S. Srikrishna defeated Siddharth Patni of Madhya Pradesh 3-0, B. Bhaskar of Karnataka defeated Ayush Sinha of Bihar 3-0, Rishabh Thakkar of Maharashtra defeated Akshay Kumar of U.P. 3-1, Vishal Madan of Maharashtra defeated Manish Jain of West Bengal 3-1 and Shekhar Surve of Maharashtra defeated B.M. Benny of Kerala 3-1 to win.
