Qualifying round matches of International Tennis Tournament starts today

Moira Saria International World Tennis Tour Junior ITF J 60 Grade-4 Tennis Championship

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): The qualifying round matches will start from Saturday in the International World Tennis Tour Junior ITF J-60 Grade-4 Tennis Championship organized by Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association and sponsored by Moira Saria.

General Secretary of Indian Tennis Federation and Madhya Pradesh Tennis, Anil Dhupar informed that the qualifying round matches will be played on 25th and 26th January. The main round matches will start from Monday 27th January. Top 4 boys and 4 girls players from qualifying round will enter the main round. Junior boys and girls from six countries including India are participating in this international tournament. The chief referee of the competition will be Anton D’Souza of Maharashtra.

Adhiraj, Pehal, Anya got direct admission
Madhya Pradesh’s emerging junior tennis player Adhiraj Thakur has got direct entry in the boys category and Pehal Kharadkar and Anya Chabe have got direct entry in the girls category on the basis of good ranking. In the qualifying round, Chitransh Agrawal and Khushvin Jeffrey have got direct entry in the boys category and Poorva Singh in the girls category.

Vivaan , Kanishka get wild card entry
Vivaan Bidasariya and Kanishka Khathuria of the state have got wild card entry in the boys category for the main round. Insiya Mahuwala and Asmi Raghuvanshi in the girls category have got wild cards for the main draw. Similarly, in the qualifying round, Aniket Chabe and Mayank Rajan in the boys category have got wild card entry in the qualifying round on the basis of ranking, while in the girls category Saaji Jain and Avni Jat have got entry on the basis of best ranking.

The winner of the title will get 60 points
Tournament director Arjun Dhupar said that this tournament is very important for junior players. On winning this tournament, a singles player gets 60 ITF points which prove to be important in increasing their ranking. The runner-up gets 36 points, semi-finalists get 18 points, quarter-finalists get 10 and pre-quarter-finalists get 5 points. Similarly, on winning the doubles title, 45 points are given, runner-up gets 27 points, semi-finalist gets 14 and quarter-finalist gets 7 ITF points.

Tanush , Vinaya get top priority
For the qualifying round matches starting from Saturday, India’s Tanush Ghildayal has been given the first preference in the boys category. India’s Amit Mund has been given the second preference and Ali Fazal Mir has been given the third preference. In the girls category, India’s Vinaya Gurumurthy has been given the first preference, S. Lokesh the second preference and Ananya Jain the third preference.
