Uproar in Congress: Mayor Ajaz Dhebar’s wife Arjunman made councilor candidate

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Rebellion is being seen continuously in Congress since the announcement of candidates. The opposition in the party is so much that only 66 names of out of 70 councilors of the capital Raipur were announced. The remaining 4 names were withheld. Now the news is that 1 name out of 4 has been finalized. Congress has made former mayor Ajaz Dhebar’s wife Arjunman its candidate from Maulana Abdul Rauf ward. At the same time, Ajaz Dhebar has got ticket from Pt. Bhagwaticharan Shukla ward number 57. That is, two people from the same house have been given ticket.

There is a discussion that the candidates have been informed by phone that they have to file nomination. But no information has come from the party yet. The nomination process has been completed but there is still uncertainty for the remaining 3 seats.

It’s learnt that Congress did not announce candidates for Maulana Abdul Rauf Ward-45, Mother Teresa Ward-47, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Ward-52, Arvind Dixit Ward-56 of Raipur Municipal Corporation due to tussle among the leaders. Today, Congress party has expressed confidence in Arjunman Dhebar, wife of former mayor Ejaz Dhebar from ward number 45.

There is a festive atmosphere among the supporters of Arjunman Dhebar after the announcement of making him councilor candidate by the Congress party. The workers congratulated Arjunman Dhebar by bursting crackers.

The code of conduct has come into force in Chhattisgarh from January 20. The nomination process for urban body elections will run from January 22 to January 28. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is January 31. Voting for the urban body elections will be held on February 11 and the results will be declared on February 15. This time the urban body elections will be conducted through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
