Pehal’s party over in singles, but rocks in doubles

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Local player Pehal Kharadkar has entered the final of the girls doubles in the International World Tennis Tour Junior ITF J- 60 Grade -4 Tennis Championship organized by Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association , but her journey in singles ended in the quarter-finals. In the singles category, Samarth Sahita, Aishwarya Mehra, Pranil Sharma, Aditya Mor, Diya Ramesh, Harshini Nagaraj, Prachi Malik and Parthasarathi Mundhe entered the semi-finals of the boys and girls category respectively.
In the first semi-final of girls doubles of this prestigious international junior tennis event being played at Indore Tennis Club, local player Pehal Kharadkar playing with Sejal Bhutada created a big upset and defeated second seeded Nainika Reddy and Saiyetti Varadkar in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Pehal and Sejal displayed excellent coordination throughout the match and did not allow the second seeded pair to stand anywhere. In the final, Pahal and Sejal will face top seeded pair Harshini Nagaraj and Diya Ramesh. Harshini and Diya defeated third seeded Shalvi Dalal and Parthasarathi Mundhe 6-4, 6-2 in the second semi-final.
The boys doubles final will be played between top seeds Aditya Mor and Praneel Sharma and second seeds Tanush Ghildayal and Samarth Sahita. In the first semi-final, top seeds Aditya Mor and Praneel Sharma defeated Mahit Mekhla and Vishal Vasudevan 7-5, 7-5, while in the second semi-final Tanush and Samarth defeated fourth seeds Daksh Kukreti and Aishravya Mehra 7-6(5), 6-3.

In the boys singles quarterfinals, top seed Samarth Sahita defeated Vishal Vasudevan in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, second seed Praneel Sharma defeated Daksh Kukreti 6-2, 6-4, fourth seed Aishwary Mehra defeated seventh seed Dev Patel 6-3, 6-1, fifth seed Aditya Mor defeated Shivtej Shirphule 7-6 (5), 6-4 to enter the semifinals.
In the quarter finals of girls singles, top seed Diya Ramesh defeated local player seventh seed Pahal Kharadkar 7-5, 6-3 in a tough match. In the first set, Pehal tried to take the set to tiebreak but failed. She tried to make a comeback in the second set as well but Diya showed excellent game and won the match and entered the semi-finals. In the second quarter final, second seed Harshini Nagaraj defeated eighth seed Akruti Sonkusare 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a tough match. In the third quarter final, Parthasarathy Mundhe pulled off an upset by defeating third seed Saina Vaidya 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 in a marathon match. In the last quarter final, Prachi Malik defeated Jaya Kapoor 6-4, 7-6(7) to make it to the last four.
