World champion Kamal Chawla starts on winning note

91st National Billiards and Snooker Championship

Indore: In the 91st National 6-Red Snooker Championship, being held under the aegis of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India, Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association, and Yashwant Club, world champion Kamal Chawla made a strong start. Other players, including Madhya Pradesh’s Mahendra Chauhan, PSPB’s Shrikant, and Karnataka’s BC Kartik, also won their league matches.

In the league matches of the 6-Red Snooker National Championship being held at the Smash Hall of Yashwant Club, world six-red champion, Asian gold medalist, and national champion Kamal Chawla defeated Andhra Pradesh’s AN Naveen Kumar 4-0 in a league match, starting his campaign with a victory. Madhya Pradesh’s Mahendra Chauhan also made a good start by defeating Tamil Nadu’s Vijay Nichani 4-3 in a tough match.

In other matches, PSPB’s Shrikant defeated Gujarat’s Mayur Garg 4-1, Karnataka’s BC Kartik defeated Jharkhand’s Ankit Boothra 4-0, Gujarat’s Kamlesh Patel defeated Odisha’s Subrat Das 4-2, Railway’s Mohammed Hussain Khan defeated Maharashtra’s Rohit Rawat 4-2, Telangana’s P Sai defeated Railway’s Neeraj Kumar 4-2, Railway’s Dilip Kumar defeated J&K’s Wasim Iqbal 4-2, Punjab’s Rajat Sharma defeated PSPB’s Shabaz Adil Khan 4-0, and Maharashtra’s Rahul Sachdev defeated Himachal’s Bhupinder 4-1 to strengthen their position in the league.
