World champion Saurav Kothari makes strong start

91st National Billiards and Snooker Championship

Indore: World Billiards Champion, Asian Billiards Champion, current National Billiards and Snooker Champion, and Arjuna Awardee Saurav Kothari made a strong start in the 91st National 6-Red Snooker Championship, being held under the aegis of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India, Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association, and Yashwant Club.

Along with Saurav, 28-time World Champion Pankaj Advani, Aditya Mehta, and World Champion Kamal Chawla also made strong performances, strengthening their position in the league.

In the league matches of the 6-Red Snooker National Championship being held at the Smash Hall of Yashwant Club, current Billiards Champion PSPB’s Saurav Kothari took a step forward for his second title. In the league matches, Saurav defeated Punjab’s Rajat Sharma 4-2. 28-time World Champion PSPB’s Pankaj Advani also didn’t have to work hard for his win in the league match. He defeated Telangana’s Balakrishna 4-1.

World Champion Railway’s Kamal Chawla easily defeated Wasim Iqbal 4-0, while Railway’s Dilip Kumar defeated Andhra Pradesh’s Naveen Kumar 4-3. Other winners in the league matches included Maharashtra’s Sumer Mago, PSPB’s Aditya Mehta, Maharashtra’s Abhishek Bajaj, Railway’s R. Girish, UP’s Anjum Khan, Digvijay Kadian, Maharashtra’s Rahul Sachdev, Karnataka’s IH Manudev, and Maharashtra’s Rian Rajmi.
