After gaining fame as Miss Chhattisgarh, Pooja Tandekar was preparing to contest the election for the post of Akaltara Nagar Palika president to try her luck in politics. Shiv Sena-supported Pooja had also filed her nomination on 28 January along with her family and followers, but due to lack of information, she could not assess her age correctly.
Born on 30 January 2000, Pooja was just two days short of the minimum age set for the post of president, i.e. 25 years, as the election officer cancelled her nomination after scrutiny. Seeing her dream shattering in front of her eyes, Pooja reached the collector’s office to plead, but was disappointed due to the rules.
Pooja is very sad due to the cancellation of nomination form in just two days, tears welled up in her eyes while expressing her pain. She said that they had doubted that I am winning, so all this has been done. I am from a poor family. Along with this, she also accused the lawyer of misleading her while filling the form and said that he had taken five thousand rupees for filling one form.
Pooja told that she had spent money for the form, paid tax. Apart from this, money was also spent on putting up posters and banners. In this way, 40-50 thousand rupees have been spent. Now, due to just two days, Pooja Tandekar’s dream may have been shattered today, but her followers say that there are still five years left. She will work hard and fight the election with full strength next time and will fulfill this pain.
