UP’s Paras Gupta Wins 6-Red Snooker title

Indore: Uttar Pradesh’s Paras Gupta won the 91st National 6-Red Snooker Championship title, defeating Railway’s Pushpender Singh in a thrilling final match. In the final match played at the Smash Hall of Yashwant Club, Paras Gupta showed excellent game play and won the match 6-5 (37-1, 56-14, 22-31, 50-22, 3-37, 37-11, 37-1, 0-44, 0-47, 52-1, 45-8). Both players were neck and neck until the sixth frame, after which Paras took the lead. However, Pushpender made a strong comeback, winning the eighth and ninth frames with a significant margin. Paras, however, showed his mettle in the tenth and eleventh frames, winning them with a big margin and clinching the title. This is his first national ranking tournament title.
Railway’s Kamal Chawla won the third place by defeating Maharashtra’s Rian Rajmi 4-3 (15-35, 1-42, 42-20, 62-0, 12-30, 61-0, 38-11). The prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of Shrimant Vikram Singh Puar as the chief guest. The function was presided over by Muktesh Singh, Director of Emerald School. Indian team coach Ashok Shandilya, Billiards and Snooker Federation of India General Secretary Sunil Bajaj, Vice President Ashwini Puranik, and Renu Bajaj were also present on the occasion.
S. Shrikrisna wins with a Break of 138
The qualifying rounds of the 15-Red Snooker event for men began today, with PSPB’s S. Shrikrisna winning against Madhya Pradesh’s Utpal Agarwal 4-0, with a break of 138. Railway’s E. Panduranga defeated Madhya Pradesh’s Saumit Shrivastava 4-1, with a break of 106. Other winners included Karnataka’s M.S. Lakshman, Maharashtra’s Mahesh Jagdale, Punjab’s Dhruv Verma, Delhi’s Anuj Utpal, Delhi’s Jason Malhotra, and Bihar’s Saket Surve.
