New Delhi(Team Newsbuddy): Former Indian team spinner R Ashwin has given a statement about captain Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson after the T20 International series against England. Former spinner R Ashwin has claimed that India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav may need to change his batting approach after poor form during the England T20I series. Suryakumar was successful as a captain, but his performance with the bat in 5 matches was disappointing. 34-year-old Surya scored 28 runs in 5 matches against England at an average of 5.60. At the same time, Sanju Samson scored only 51 runs in five matches.

In fact, in all the five-match T20 International series between India and England, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson fell prey to the short-ball strategy adopted by England’s fast bowlers. Suryakumar’s disappointing batting performance ended with 28 runs, in which he could not even open the account twice.

At the same time, Sanju Samson got out early while playing a pull shot, while Suryakumar got out cheaply throughout the series due to playing a flick shot. Seeing the poor form of both these players, former spinner Ashwin gave important advice to both. Ashwin said that both should understand that the time has come to make some changes in their batting.

Ashwin further said that I can understand that this is happening in 1-2 games, but it is not unnatural now. Players should play with freedom, but our batsmen also need to answer the same question better. Suryakumar Yadav has a lot of experience, but now the time has come for him to change his approach towards his batting.

On his YouTube channel ‘Ash Ki Baat’, he said that the problem is Suryakumar’s batting. Of course his captaincy has been really good in this series. His captaincy has also been on target, but he can give his batting some much-needed breathing space. Sanju Samson and SRH getting out on the same ball, same field, same shot, same mistake, same kind of dismissal.
